S6 vs M9 vs G Flex 2 vs S6 Edge

So it's early 2015 and we've seen MWC 2015 introduce the first herd of brand new phones. The big contenders: Samsung, HTC and LG have all presented their latest smartphones just a couple of days ago, sparking discussions and comparisons across the tech world. Now, let's get stuck in and compare the beasts!

Dimensions:

S6: 143.4 x 70.5 x 6.8mm; 138g

M9: 144.6 x 69.7 x 9.6 mm; 157g

G Flex 2: 149.1 x 75.3 x 7.1 mm; 152g

S6 Edge: 142 x 70.1 x 70mm; 132g

The G Flex 2 comes in as the largest phone in size, while the S6 Edge comes in as the smallest in size very close to the M9. The Galaxy S6 is the slimmest.

S6: 5.1-inches; 2,560x1,440 pixels; 557ppi

M9: 5-inches; 1,920x1,080 pixels; 441ppi

G Flex 2: 5.5 inches; 1,920x1,080 pixels, 403ppi; curved screen

S6 Edge: 5.1-inches; 2,560x1,440 pixels; 557ppi; curved display

The G Flex 2 boasts the largest screen while the M9 hosts the smallest. The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge share the trophy with Quad HD screen quality. Both the S6 Edge and G Flex 2 utilise a curved display but the G Flex 2 only has 403ppi.

The S6 brothers run on Android 5.0 Lollipop with Samsung Touchwiz while the HTC One M9 uses Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7. The LG G Flex 2 busts out stock Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Samsung has decided to stick with the 16-Megapixel camera on the S6 and S6 Edge which can shoot 4K images. HTC makes a massive improvement and jumps to the highest megapixel count compared between these smartphones, making the G Flex 2 feel a little down at the dump.

G Flex 2: 2.1-megapixel

S6 Edge: 5-megapixel

Both S6es possess a 5-megapixel front-facing camera while the G Flex 2 keeps a dissapointing 2.1-megapixel camera. However, the M9 may have just about won it with a fascinating 'Ultrapixel' front-facing camera.

S6 Edge: Samsung Exynos

So the smartphones are divided in to two teams. The Samsung Exynos team members: Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. The Octa-core Snapdragon 810 team members: HTC One M9 and LG G-Flex 2.

M9: 32GB

G Flex 2: 16GB, 32GB

S6 Edge: 32GB, 64GB, 128GB

The G Flex 2 comes in a selection of either 16 or 32GB while the M9 only comes in a 32GB model. However, the S6 brothers come in a wide selection making it easier for an individual to decide on which size to purchase.

The S6 and S6 Edge smartphones do not allow any expandable memory.

S6: 2,550mAh

M9: 2,840mAh

G Flex 2: 3,000mAh

S6 Edge: 2,600mAh

The G Flex 2 wins as it has the strongest battery of 3,000mAh. The M9 comes up second while the S6 and S6 Edge aren't too good.
