We have heard lots of leaks and rumors about the Huawei Mate 9 in the last weeks. There is also some renders of the Mate 9 on the web. The renders look pretty different so it’s very unclear how it will look. You can see that the device has a curved display in some of the renders. Here is one render, it’s not sure if this even is close to the final look, but let’s check it out anyway:

Recently also some fresh specs have leaked. The upcoming Huawei device will come with an impressive 5.9-inch display. The resolution of the screen is rumored to be 1920×1080. Huawei has decided to put one 20MP and one 12MP camera on the back. The Mate 9 will probably be available in two different models, one with 4GB of RAM and another one with 6GB of RAM. Both models will come with the Kirin 960 chipset, made by Huawei. This device will probably come with Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box, but of course with Huawei’s EMUI 5 on top. The battery is unknown, but it will probably be pretty large because of the large screen. You’ll also be able to get up to 256GB of built-in storage. If the rumors about the 256GB version are true, it will be the first Android phone ever with that amount of storage. About one month ago some pricing was leaked. The cheapest model (4GB RAM and 64GB storage) will cost $480, while the top version (6GB RAM and 256GB storage) will cost $705.

The release date of the Mate 9 is still a secret, but it will maybe be released at the Huawei event in the 3rd November. The device will probably be available in Europe because the event will take place in Germany.

Because of the large size and great specs, the Mate 9 may be the Galaxy Note 7’s substitute. Who knows?
