Elcomsoft found a security flaw in iOS 10

Apple released iOS 10 a while ago. iOS 10 comes with some new cool and useful features, and many people have looked forward to this update. But Apple’s new OS has a security flaw, according to Forbes.

A Russian company, called Elcomsoft, recently discovered a weakness in iOS 10. Elcomsoft says that they can be able to skip several security checks when they try to access to a backup that’s saved after the iOS 10 update. They can do that because iOS 10 uses a new “password verification mechanism”.

According to Elcomsoft, the iOS 10 update will make it much easier to crack backup passwords. They are also saying that they can crack passwords about 2500 times faster than they could in iOS 9. This means that Elcomsoft can process 6 million passwords per second in iOS 10. In iOS 9, they could “just” process 2400 per second.

The good news is that it is much harder now to break into iCloud or a physical iPhone or iPad. Hopefully, Apple will fix this issue as soon as possible. But before they’ve fixed this problem I would suggest you to wait with your backup until Apple fixes this.
