A chance of new emojis in the next iOS update
If you’re bored with the current emojis on your ‘iDevice’, you could soon be in luck. The Unicode Consortium on Monday released a comprehensive list of 38 emojis that could be released in Unicode 9.0, which is going to be released sometime in the middle of 2016. Because Apple uses UniCode, the new emojis could be released onto iOS and Mac devices in the future via updates.
There are a lot of possible new emojis, and some of them include ‘selfie’, shrug, handshake, a lying face, a drooling face and many more. But let's not forget food. Some food emojis include bacon, avocado and potatoes, plus more. And finally for animals we have sharks, owls, bats and more.
These emojis have been chosen for several reasons, including how frequent the emojis have been asked from other parties. As well as closing the gaps from existing groups of emojis, according to Unicode Consortium.
The potential new emoji candidates are not final. So some could be removed or added because of the release date in 2016. However, Unicode 8 will be released in iOS 8.3 and OS X 10.10.3. Some new emojis for Unicode 8 include a thinking face, robot face, hot dogs, tacos, popcorn and more. A release date for Unicode 8 is unknown at this time, but should be coming within the next couple of months.
