Samsung Galaxy S6 Active preview

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active was made official just yesterday and now we have the full specifications on the latest handset.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active will be sold exclusively through AT&T in the US, the handset is designed to be a more rugged version of the Galaxy S6.

The new Samsung Galaxy S6 Active comes with an IP68 rating, the handset is designed to be both waterproof and dust proof.

The device comes with a 5.1 inch display with a Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and the device is powered by an eight core 64-bit Samsung Exynos 7420 processor, the device also comes with 3GB of RAM.

For storage, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active comes with 32GB built in, unfortunately there is no expansion slot for extra storage. The handset also comes with front and rear facing cameras, on the front of the device is a wide angle 5 megapixel camera for Selfies and on the back there is a 16 megapixel camera.

The handset comes with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop and it features 4G LTE, HD Voice, WiFi and Bluetooth it also comes with a 3500 mAh battery. The device will be available in a choice of three different colors, which will include Gray, Camo Blue and Camo white. We can now tell you that it will launch on 12 June priced at $199 on contract - that's on AT&T in the states. UK specific information still nowhere to be seen. We'll update this article as soon as we find anything out worth sharing but we expect the new phone to be around the £600 mark if it comes here.
