Samsung to produce 'Safety Trucks'
Tech giant Samsung has been in the tech game for a very long time, producing a huge range of technology not only for the consumer but also rival companies. The good thing about Samsung is that they keep innovating and diversifying, which makes them the big brand that they are today.
And they are very recently looking to utilise their display screens not for entertainment for the consumer, but this time for road safety. It’s basically a whole new way to boost road safety technology in to the future.
It’s called the ‘Safety Truck’, which employs a wireless camera on the front-end and livestreams the footage to four big display screens on the rear-end. The system literally makes the truck transparent and allows drivers of vehicles behind the truck to see the road ahead and take the opportunity to overtake. It’s even got a night vision mode.
You can pretty much tell the objective of the truck yourself, Samsung wants to abolish car crashes caused by overtaking. A prototype of the truck was created by Samsung to examine the basic idea, and it was successful, however the original truck is not in use anymore.
Samsung is currently working with local governments and other organisations to make these trucks official. There hasn’t been a confirmed date or idea when the first of these trucks will be on our roads. Overall, it’s a smart technology proposal, and not only will it enhance the technology world, it will improve the road safety for the consumer.
