Windows 10 finishing touches before release
Microsoft is making the finishing touches to its latest OS, Windows 10, just before the official launch later this month.
The Verge has been told by sources that Microsoft’s latest plan is to sort out the final copies of Windows 10. And they are working on it right now, with a RTM (release to manufacturing) build anticipated later this week.
There has already been many RTM candidate builds seen online. Once the main RTM build is complete, Windows 10 will be released to Microsoft’s PC collaborators ahead of the 29th July public launch.
Microsoft states that Windows 10 is due for updates on a regular basis and that it will be a "Windows as a service" model. This makes sense when Microsoft said that Windows 10 is the final version of the operating system range. Windows Chief Terry Myerson last week stated; "We will never be done," as Windows 10 isn’t a fully completed product. Updates will include extension support for the Edge browser and several apps built-in to the Windows 10 system. We’ll be seeing many updates in the forthcoming months after launch.
Last week, we saw three (build 10158, 10159, and 10162) versions of the operating system launch and they all consisted of small enhancements. Many people are discussing whether Microsoft is prepared to release Windows 10 as some issues remain. Examples of these issues are bugs, and driver problems but some have been fixed by Microsoft and some remain, however the RTM builds mean that they will have a major chance of being fixed just before launch on the 29th of this month.
Good news for Windows 10 testers as they will be the first to receive a copy of the final version, but there isn’t a long wait for the public as Microsoft will begin dropping the operating system to the public on July 29th. We'll just have to wait and see what the final finished product is like before judging.
