2015 Motorola Moto 360 - What's new?

The Motorola Moto 360 was one of the most popular Android Wear watches from last year mainly due to its circular display. Motorola unveiled the successor at IFA BERLIN 2015 - so what’s new?

First of all there are three types you can purchase, prices ranging from $300 to $429 which is much more expensive than the original. You can buy a 46mm (intended for men), a 42mm (women’s edition), and a sport edition. However, as of now the sport version is currently unavailable for pre-order due to it being released later in the year. All can be found in the Moto maker website allowing you to customise the watch to your personal liking.

Design wise, for the most part is the same, with the “flat tire” still prominent. However, the side crown has now changed to a 2 o’clock which supposedly helps with accidental hits. Also the watch strap housing is no longer internally (the band does not go under the watch) and bands are much easier to remove due to a latch holding the strap in place.

Last year Motorola decided to use the TI-OMAP CPU which was a single core CPU. This was critised as it provide poor performance and lead to bad battery life as the chip was not efficient. However, this year Motorola decided to use the Snapdragon 400 which every Android Wear smartwatch currently use. There is still 512mb of ram,4GB ROM and the same resolution screen. The battery has been bumped up on the 46mm model providing a supposed 2 day battery life. The new Moto 360 also ships out with the latest and greatest android wear update. You can find what’s new HERE.

In all I think most people would be disappointed. The flat tire still exists and the price has taken a gigantic leap! What do you guys think of the new Moto 360?
