IFA 2015: Alcatel OneTouch announces a slew of new phones

Alcatel has announced a bunch of new phones at IFA 2015 this year in Berlin, Germany. And they are more of a mid-tier to budget phone offering, instead of their other high-end budget smartphones out on the market today.

The first being the Go Play, which is a rugged phone that is also affordable. It is waterproof, dustproof, and shockproof. It has a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 720p, a 2,500mAh battery and a Snapdragon 410 with only 1GB of RAM, alongside 8GB of storage that can be expanded via a MicroSD expansion slot, It also an 8-megapixel rear facing camera while the front-facing camera is 5-megapixels. 4G LTE support is included, with an FM radio tuner, and has the option of 8 different colorful options. The phone should be available sometime in Q4.

Also announced is the Pop Star, which is an entry-level smartphone with a 5-inch 720p display that is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6580 SoC alongside 1GB of RAM. There is also 8GB of storage with an expandable MicroSD card slot. An 8-megapixel camera is located on the back while a 5-Megapixel camera is located on the front. There is also Dual-SIM capability. The Pop Star is available in a variety of different color options, even lether and denim.

Finally The Pop Up is a more mid-tier offering a 5-inch display at a resolution of 720p, it has an octa-core 1.4GHz Snapdragon 610 SoC with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The camera on the back is 13-megapixels while the back is 5-megapixels, and like the others, it has Dual-SIM capability. The color options for the Pop Up is Black, Riva Blue, Amber Orange, White and Strawberry Red.
