Sony unveiled three new models of their new Z5 line, the Z5, The Z5 compact and the Z5 premium.

The Z5 has a 5.2-inch 1080p display and a 2,900mAh battery that is powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB of RAM. The Z5 Compact has a 4.2-inch 720p screen with a 2,700mAh battery and the RAM gets downgraded to just 2GB, which is still plenty for most users. Sony's glass sandwich design is still here, with glass on both the front and back sides, and a metal frame with a new "frosted glass" color scheme. What is probably the most exciting model of the three, the Z5 premium, which offers a 5.5-inch 4K screen. That's right, the Z5 premium has the first 4K screen offered the smartphone market that has a resolution of 3840x2160 and has 806 pixels per inch. Sony claims that the phone will last "up to two days" of usage, thanks to the 3,430mAh battery.

The cameras have also been upgraded, that includes Sony's new 23-megapixel Exmor RS sensor that is behind a f/2.0 Sony G lens system, that Sony claims that it offers the fastest autofocus on the market today, in just 0.03 seconds. There is also advancement in low-light photography and better software stabilization. Sony has finally included a fingerprint sensor on the phone, which is a first for the company. It is located on the side and is located under the newly redesigned power button. There is also IP65 and IP68 water and dust resistance built in, which is standard on most Sony smartphones. Another honorable mention is the fact that the headphone port and MicroUSB connectors are capless, which was a problem for some users on previous models. All three Z5 phones will run Android 5.1 Lollipop with Sony's software experience that is similar on other models and offers PlayStation 4 Remote Play capabilities and integration with PlayMemories, Playstation Video, and more.

The Z5 will launch globally in October, while the Z5 Compact has no launch time estimation, but could be around the same time as the Z5. The Z5 premium will launch sometime in November. The Z5 and the Z5 premium will have dual-sims while the compact will only be offered in a single sim.
