AT&T announces a plug-in mobile hotspot for your car
More and more cars nowadays are offering built-in 4G LTE WiFi, which is a great feature for on-the-go traveling. But most everyone doesn't have that option in their cars, until now as AT&T announced the Mobley, which is a ZTE-made mobile hotspot that is able to plug into the car's diagnostics port, and works in cars around 1996 or later. The Mobley can be used with for WiFi up to 5 devices that is powered by AT&T's LTE network and offers the added functionality of a minimal setup. It'll power up when the car starts, and then powers down when the car turns off. It can also troubleshoot problems with the car, like Verizon's Delphi Connect hotspot.
The Mobley will be sold for free when the user signs a two-year contract with the carrier, but it can be sold contract-free for $100. 1GB of data will cost $20 or $30 for 3GB. What most costumers will choose is the Mobile Value Share Plan, which will let the user use their data from their monthly smartphone cache.
