The new Amazon tablet, cheap but effective. Amazon announced their new tablet running in the market with a 1024 x 600 resolution IPS display, a 1.3Ghz quad-core processor, 8 gigabytes of internal storage, one gigabyte of RAM, and a front and rear facing camera, which is nice considering when I bought my Nexus 7 (2012) when it was first released only had a face camera. They come in a bunch of different colors this time around rather than the plain black color. They have reported that the battery lasts on normal use around 6-7 hours.
The tablet is priced at 50$ but you can buy a six-pack of them. You are paying for 5 of them but get a sixth one free. I can see this being usefull for places like a school or a daycare that needs some basic tablets for light use to read or play some Amazon Store games.
Amazon intended their products to be used as E-Readers but have evlolved them so much since the original lauch back in 2011. They have been doing more with them than just reading books. When I first used a Amazon tablet I felt like it was a Android tablet. The UI feels the same as Android, I wish we could have the Google Play Store on them though.
So overall the new tablet is a VERY good deal for the price you can buy it at. I would recomend grabbing one for the casual reading every now and then, or even to watch some videos.
