Hudl 2 Receives Lollipop Update!
The Hudl 2 is a great midrange tablet available at a budget price from the UK supermarket giant Tesco. The 8.3inch tablet was released a while back running Android Kitkat and today I received the lollipop upgrade - so here are my initial impressions.
The update does not bring the latest and greatest version, only bringing the Hudl 2 onto android 5.1 rather than the 5.1.1 software. However, there is virtually no change in the OS between the two software's. The update gives rise to a whole new material UI experience, supposedly better battery life and a faster performance. All this will be tested in my full review.
Since I have upgraded (not too long ago) I performed an Antutu benchmark test. The results showed a significant performance increase from Kitkat. The results jumped from 31900 points to 37121 points which were very pleasing. Navigating the UI is as smooth as ever with no lag or stutters. The update also adds 128GB as the maximum external storage option allowing for a larger SD card.
In conclusion, the update is thoroughly welcomed. I will be testing the software thoroughly and will post my review shortly - so stay tuned!
