Oneplus Mini - What We Know So Far

The Oneplus 2 is a fairly new smartphone boasting top of the end specifications and a relatively low price point. The key word is relatively because a 16gb variant will set you back at £239. Oneplus are supposedly releasing a budget friendly "Oneplus Mini" handset. So here is what we know so far...

In the display section, it is rumoured to boast a 5inch 1080p IPS display with a PPI of 441 giving it a sharp display. We are assuming that the Oneplus Mini will run the same Oxygen OS based on android lollipop. Powering the device will be the new Helio X10 processor and 2GB of RAM with the new PowerVr G6200 GPU.

In the camera department will be the same 13mp shooter found in the Oneplus 2. However, it is currently unknown if there will be OIS or Laser autofocus present. The Oneplus Mini will utilise the same USB Type-C port and will have a beefy 3100mAh battery capacity for long lasting battery. There will also be the same fingerprint scanner found on the Oneplus 2 and Bluetooth v4.1. It is unknown if Oneplus decided to put NFC in the device, but it would be a real shame if they neglected the feature again.

As for price point, it is expected to be around £150 or lower. Most of the details here should be taken with a pinch of salt since there have been no confirmed specifications.

So what do you guys think? Could Oneplus claim the title as the "Budget Killer"?
