Steam Machines coming soon to a store near you

There has been a lot of hype these past months or even years about the Steam Machines, but steam is taking a step-up from most PC manufacturers these days and actually selling the Steam Machines in stores, Gamestop to be exact. So what is a Steam Machine? In a nutshell, a Steam Machine is a PC that runs a custom Debian Linux-based OS built by Steam. It’s basically Steam in big picture mode, but you can also switch to the desktop and manage your files and other things. You're not limited to just Steam OS, though. You can install windows 10 on it If that suits you more.

Steam is shipping every Steam Box with a rather, peculiar looking controller for you to play most but not all your Steam games with, which will also be sold in Gamestop stores at about 49USD. I'm hoping some Dev’s out there get the hint and start making their games controller compatible for PC. The Steam boxes will be arriving at Gamestop and sold online within a month, November 10th to be exact, and are to be priced at around 399 USD for an i3 with 500gb of storage on it. This seems like a very good price for a PC sold in stores and is meant for gaming.

Gamestop is also selling retail copies of Steam games exclusively for the Steam Machine. This way gamers who have slower internet speeds don’t have to wait days upon days for a game to download through Steam. I think this is a bit of a step up for steam as they are trying to deliver better content in stores rather than online ordering.
