HMDX Jam 2 Speaker Review

The HMDX Jam + speakers are a great travel companion because they are small, light and portable. All this comes in a cheap and affordable package. So how do these speakers perform?

The packaging takes the form of a jam jar (hence the name of the speakers) and the speaker themselves are designed to be small. There are a range of colours you can choose offering a unique look onto your speaker. On the speaker themselves, there is a power button located on the bottom, and a play/pause button as well as volume buttons giving you easy access.

The speaker’s performance is a mixed bag. The sound produced is pleasingly loud - it is impressive that such a small speaker was able to produce such a loud sound. However, the sound is tinny and it lacks bass. Sound also gets distorted with high volumes which was rather disappointing. Compared to my JBL speaker (the review can be found here) the sound was nowhere near as good. However, bearing in mind that the speakers only cost £35, in some retailers, the sound is decent. It’s not like the sound is bad – it’s definitely acceptable and you probably cannot tell the lack of bass and tininess unless you compare it to another speaker.

In conclusion, the speaker is a great product offering Bluetooth and a respectable sound. If you are after the best sound quality I would look elsewhere otherwise these are the perfect speakers!
