Fossil Android Wear Q Founder Now Official

Smartwatches have traditionally been manufactured from big technology companies, and rightly so since they are a connected device. However, today Fossil unveiled its latest watch which runs Android Wear out of the box called the Q Founder.

The Q Founder's design is reminiscent of the Moto 360. The Q Founder retains a circular display with a "flat tire" at the bottom which houses the ambient light sensors.

No official specs have been released, but Fossil has confirmed an Intel CPU powering the new smartwatch. This was rather surprising as most Android Wear smartwatches on the market today, with the exception of the original Moto 360, use the Snapdragon 400 CPU. It will be interesting to see how the CPU performs and more importantly how efficient it is on the battery life.

Speaking about the battery life, Fossil gave no details about the capacity or duration of the Q Founder. As for the rest of the spec sheet, we can guess 512mb RAM, WIFI connectivity and 4GB of internal memory.

The Q Founder will set you back at $275 and shipments will begin on October the 25th.
