Aston Martin's latest luxury addition
When it comes to luxury vehicles, Aston Martin is one of the best. They’ve already got a £150,000 Rapide luxury-performance sedan, but now they’re introducing a new ‘RapidE’. And it still looks ridiculously good.
It’s basically an identical twin of its petrol-drinking brother, but it’s an electric car itself. And this is what the company told us back in the Pebble Beach car show. Due to Aston Martin’s financial situation, there was a less-likely chance of this new RapidE becoming a reality before ChinaEquity got involved and invested in the idea.
CEO Andy Palmer stated that there will initially be a model released with 550bhp but also stated that a super sport version with up to 1,000bhp will be offered in future.
The design and characteristics of the RapidE are very similar to the current V12 Rapide S that Aston Martin boast. However, we can see the difference by lifting up the bonnet where the Williams (F1) engineering lives. The iconic Aston Martin badge is finished with an additional blue colour.
It’ll be 2017 by the time we first start seeing these on our roads – only if we live in a neighbourhood where people are willing to spend £100,000+ on a car.
