Huawei’s sub-brand, Honor, have just announced their mid-range budget smartphone; the Honor 5X.
The 5X brings a stylish metal chassis, with a fingerprint scanner and 13MP camera on the back. On the front, it’s rocking a 5MP selfie shooter and a 5.5” 1080p display. Inside, we have 16GB of onboard storage, an octa-cote, 64bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 with LTE capabilities, clocked at 1.2-1.5GHz and a 3000mAh battery. There will also be 2 or 3 Gigabytes of RAM inside to help with multitasking.

The handset runs the Huawei Emotion UI skin on top of android KitKat (Lollipop is still in Beta), which is a real bummer.
The phone is currently only on sale in China, so if you decide to get it via a re-seller, don’t expect a warranty, but do expect to pay a little more than normal.
The phone is available for $157 if you want 2GB of RAM, or $220 if you opt for 3GB. (Prices at current exchange rate from ¥ to $)
Overall, this phone is a great entry into the ever growing mid-range market, and it could just see many people leave their current phone for what is a cheap, yet powerful phone.
