Samsung Galaxy S7 - What we know so far
The Samsung Galaxy S6 was arguably the best flagship phone of this year. It has a blazing CPU that's miles ahead of the competition, eye-popping screen and amazing camera. Leaks and rumours have surfaced about the successor, the S7 and here is what we know so far.
Starting with the internals, leaks have been suggesting two CPU variants which will power the flagship. The Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890 depending on the market. No matter what CPU, you can expect top performance from the high-end processors. The S7 will most likely ship with 4GB RAM.
The camera setup will include a 16MP sensor with a 1.0μm pixel size. Essentially, this means a more pixels squeezed in the camera resulting in clearer and better looking low light photos. As for the front camera, there will probably be an 8MP shooter for fantastic selfies.
Samsung will probably stick to the same screen used in the Galaxy S6. This means a beautiful 5.1 inch 2K Super AMOLED display. Other rumours have leaked suggesting a 4K panel but this would be an unwise option since battery drain will be much higher.
New features will include the new USB Type-C port - offering faster transferring data speeds and the ability to plug it in either way. Android M out the box bringing a host of new features such as Doze and Now On Tap. There have been rumours of Samsung making the S7 waterproof like the Samsung Galaxy S5 but we will not know for certain. Hopefully, Samsung will include a micro SD card slot back into the S7 too!
As for pricing, the S7 will most likely be at the same price as when the S6 came out so around £599 for the 32GB model
