Google first announced their OnHub initiative last August, which made it easier for people to set up and use routers to access the internet. That continues with the second model, this time made by Asus. The new model offers a new feature, which is activated when the user waves their hand over the top of the router. The OnHub router would then increase speed for a certain device by selecting the best wireless antennas closest to the selected device. This feature will also make it to the first OnHub router, made by TP-Link.
The new Asus OnHub router shares the similar design cues from the first model, which is meant to be out in the open rather than being hidden or tucked away, as the walls would impede WiFi signal coverage. Google's way of including the motion gestures might encourage more and more users to put their router out and in the open, rather than hiding it. However, the Asus router is lighter than the TP-Link model, it is also slightly larger.

Like the design, the specifications of the Asus router are exactly the same that is found on the TP-Link model, which is now the cheaper offering. Both offer the same storage and connections, such as one LAN port and one USB 3.0. There is 802.11 AC WiFi and dual-band 5GHZ network support included.
The Asus OnHub router is now available for Preorder for $219.99USD, which is only $20USD more than the TP-Link Model.
