Splashproof Omaker M4 Bluetooth speaker review
The Omaker M4 speaker combines style, functionality and protection into a small and lightweight unit. The speaker will cost you just £22- so how does the speaker stack up?
The speaker comes neatly packed with the unit itself inside an aux cable, a micro USB cable and a silicon strap. The design of the speaker is very attractive in my opinion. The orange colour contrast very nicely with the grey body.
The front of the unit houses the speaker grill with an Omaker branding and at the back is an NFC chip, for quick and seamless pairing via your smartphone- which was very handy. At the top of the Omaker M4 are four buttons, a power button, volume up, volume down and a handsfree button. All buttons are very welcomed as it makes changing the song or track much easier than using your mobile - especially if you are in a shower. My only criticism is that the buttons lack tactile feedback, resulting me in pressing the buttons hard or more than once to make sure I actually pressed them.
The speaker itself is very light which was very pleasing especially since how well protected the unit was. This added to its portability. Furthermore, the speaker is splash proof meaning it is resistant to the odd splash of water. I tested this by splashing and pouring water over the speaker - the unit handled it just fine. It is worth mentioning, when the speaker is wet, the sound may become distorted, which was the case.
Connecting the device is quite simple- turn on the speaker and connect your mobile via Bluetooth. Battery life has been excellent. Omaker state 12 hours of Bluetooth playback and I can confirm this to be the case after my testing. It was very impressive. As mentioned above, the Omaker M4 does house an NFC chip, so simply touching your NFC-enabled mobile to the back will trigger the pairing process, making it much easier.
The speaker produces great sound quality. The unit is able to produce some impressive bass and clear sound at high volumes. The Omaker M4 can output up to 3W producing some very loud music which is perfect for outdoor use. Overall, the Omaker M4 impresses me further in the sound department.
In conclusion, the Omaker M4 speakers are probably the best ones you can find on the market for the outdoor use. It produces decent sound and offers a waterproof design. I would highly recommend them!
