Raspberry Pi gets even smaller for just $5

The Raspberry Pi is infamous for introducing millions of people to programming, with a cheap and small computer, and a somewhat friendly interface. Now, the Raspberry Pi has gotten even smaller from the size of a credit card to smaller than a quarter of a five dollar bill.

The Raspberry Pi Zero has a 1GHz ARM11 core which is 40% faster than the first Raspberry Pi, but slower than the Raspberry Pi 2. It has 512MB of RAM compared to the 1GB of RAM the Raspberry Pi 2 has, a micro-SD card slot for expandable memory and a mini-HDMI socket with 1080p60 video output. The 2 new main features of the Zero is its size and at just 65 x 30 x 5mm. Which makes it easier for you to see how this is revolutionary in computer form factors. The other main feature of the Zero is its price tag. At just £3.31 ($5,), this makes it even easier for people to get into programming.

Overall, this is a good step into helping people get into programming with accessible prices and form factors, and this could bring down the price of other pieces of small tech designed in teaching and helping people to program.
