Apple testing 5 different iPhone 7 prototypes with USB-C and wireless charging
Some rumors have come up saying that Apple has been testing out at least 5 iPhone 7 prototypes with features including wireless charging, USB-C connectivity and dual rear-facing cameras. Some other sources have also said they are testing out a new display with an included fingerprint scanner.
It isn’t that surprising that Apple is testing out different types of technology because they need to test out what is going to be made into the final model for next year’s launch.
One of the changes that they might be adding is USB-C. Many companies this year have started to use USB-C with their flagship devices including the Google Nexus 5X/6P and the OnePlus 2. They have already used it in one of their new MacBooks, so I don’t see why they can’t start using it in their iPhone’s as it’s more versatile and useful.
Apple could also be testing out a new 3D Touch display that can detect multiple finger presses instead of one and dual rear-facing cameras that could bring even better photos.
It has also been rumored that Touch ID will be underneath the display, so it will remove the home button and make a larger display.
Some of these ideas seem a bit unrealistic because it’s highly unlikely that Apple can create these new technologies in less than a year. The only likely things that will be featured on the iPhone 7, are the USB-C connectivity and wireless charging as USB-C could be taking over standard USB ports.
