Apple's new unattractive Smart Battery Case costs $99
We all know that iPhone’s battery life aren’t the great, so Apple have finally unveiled their new Smart Battery Case for the iPhone 6 and 6S.
Apple didn’t advertise this new accessory anywhere as it just popped up in Apple Stores and online. They are available today and cost $99.
The case has a slip-on design made with silicone material. Apple says the case will add an extra 18 hours of internet use, 20 hours of music playback and 25 hours of talk time.
You would install the case just like you would with a regular Apple case, without having two separate pieces. They’re available in two colours: charcoal and white. To protect your iPhone, it has a microfibre lining inside to protect it from scratches. The only problem with the design is the huge bump and chin. The Smart Battery Case is supposed to be challenging the Mophie case, but in the design area, Apple is definitely not winning.
For $99, the Smart Battery Case isn’t as smart as you think it is. The battery case doesn’t have an on/off switch on the case so you can’t turn it off when your iPhone reaches 100%.
Unlike many other battery cases, this one uses a Lightning cable, which is very useful for iPhone users as they only need to carry around one cable instead of two and it is also compatible with charging docks. This case also has built-in antennas to help boost your cellular connection.
The battery case is only available for the 4.7-inch iPhones, which is a good idea as they were the phones that were struggling the most with the battery life between the two models. We’re still not sure if the iPhone 6/S Plus will get one, but it might not be a bad idea as they are still not the best with battery life.
