You can now browse the internet on Samsung's Gear VR

Samsung's Gear VR headset offers Galaxy owners a great way to experience VR for potentially the first time. It offers a solid line of games and specifications that has made the headset popular over the past couple of months. Now, Samsung is trying to shake things up a little as they have announced Internet for Gear VR, which is a full-fledged Internet browser for the Smartphone-powered headset. The app is currently in beta, and it offers Gear VR users to explore and experience the internet in a more immersive way. There is support for 360-Degree and 3D video playback, as well as HTML5 media playback. Since you need to type in web addresses, Samsung has included voice recognition to the app, as well. There is another feature called Gaze mode, which would allow the user to select menus just by gazing at them, which is an interesting feature that hopefully should work like it is described.

If you or someone you know has a Gear VR, the Internet for Gear VR application can be downloaded through the Oculus store. It will work with a Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+, Note 4 or note 5.
