Apple's Swift programming language is now open source

Apple first announced their own in-house programming language called swift, back in 2014 at WWDC. Apple also said that they would make Swift open source earlier this year, and they are keeping true to that statement, as Apple has now made the Swift programming language Open Source. Apple describes swift as a powerful and easy to use programming language. It will be open source thanks to the Apache Licence, which gives developers a wide range of tools to create anything they want, such as 3D games, social networking apps and much more.

Swift also works with the Objective-C programming language, which allows developers to create projects that were used with the preexisting program. If you're interested in using or playing around with Swift, you can check it out at swift.org.
