3D Touch, USB-C, external storage and more to be featured in Galaxy S7

The Wall Street Journal has revealed a lot of details about Samsung's upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S7. The rumor has a long list of specs and features, but it can be possible that not all of these features will make it into the final model.

The report has only mentioned the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, not the S7 Edge Plus which has been rumored to launch next year as well.

The biggest new feature that will be included in the S7 and S7 Edge is a pressure sensitive display that is very similar to 3D Touch found on the Apple iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. Samsung is also rumored to include USB-C which will be capable of charging the phone in under 30 minutes.

Samsung is also bringing some small design changes to the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. They are supposed to be very similar to their predecessors but are supposed to be "less striking" this year.

Many smartphone companies have been removing the microSD card slots, but many people have been disappointed as they had to buy a more expensive model right away. The rumors have suggested that only the flat-screened Galaxy S7 is likely to have a microSD card slot, but the S7 Edge won't be.

Certain versions of the S7 smartphones might have an included retina scanner. There have been no details about this feature, but it has been said that it's similar to ZTE's Eyeprint ID feature on the Blade S6 and Grand S3. Unlike the iris scanner, the retina scanner uses the front facing camera to analyze the unique pattern in blood vessels in the user's retina.

Like every other year, the S7 will have an improved camera which is supposed to take better photos in low-light conditions. The camera will lie flush with the body of the phone, instead of poking out like previous years. Samsung has found a way to make a high-quality camera without the bulge on the phones.

According to rumors, the S7 is going to be launched in mid-March. The expected launch is said to happen around MWC which is February 22-25. Samsung might also release the phones earlier this year.
