Microsoft discontinues support for Internet Explorer 8, 9 and 10

If you or someone you know uses Internet Explorer editions 8, 9 or 10, you probably should tell them to switch to either other browsers, or Microsoft's Edge browser, as they have discontinued support for their old internet browser platform. Which shouldn't come as a surprise, as there was an End of Life notice that was announced back in July of 2014. Microsoft isn't discarding the internet browser as a whole, they are still supporting Internet Explorer 11 and their Edge browser, which comes pre-installed in Windows 10 and offers Cortana support. If you still use the discontinued versions, keep in mind that there will be a increased risk for viruses, malware and other malicious software that can steal your personal information or even hijack your PC.

According to a report via NetMarketShare statistics, one in five Internet users (which is about 19.8 percent) were still using Internet Explorer 8, 9 or 10 back in December of last year. With the recent End of Life notice and constant update notifications, hopefully that number will go down, and most of the users can switch to the newer versions, but most will probably switch to either Google's Chrome or Mozilla's Firefox.
