Panasonic will launch the Lumix CM10 Smart Camera

Every smartphone user wants a better camera in their phone and companies have been improving the quality over the past few years., however, smartphones have also been getting thinner, but camera components still take up a lot of space, so it's very common to see a camera hump on most smartphones. Panasonic is known for making other electronics like cameras and televisions, but they have released some smartphones last year, including the CM1, which shows off their camera quality.

This year, they unveiled the Lumix DMC-CM10, which looks identical to last year's smartphone. The internals are also the same with the Snapdragon 801 processor and 2GB of RAM. Internal storage is still 16GB, but it does have a microSD card slot. There is a 4.7-inch Full HD display and this smartphone runs Android Lollipop out of the box, whereas last year, you had to update it to Lollipop. The large camera sensor is also coming back to this year's device. It has a 1.0-inch 20.1-megapixel CMOS sensor and a 26mm f/.28 Leica lens. It also features a mechanical ring around the lens for even more adjustments as if you were using a regular camera. The camera is able to record 4K video and includes a dual-tone LED flash.

Why would Panasonic use the same internals as last year? Apparently Panasonic won't be selling the CM10 as a smartphone anymore but as a smart camera. While there is a micro SIM tray, users won't be able to make calls or send and receive SMS either. They still brought 4G LTE connectivity, GPS, dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth to the CM10, so you can geo-tag your photos and share them on social media. The CM10 will launch on January 25th in Japan and will cost 100,000 yen ($849), which is a bit pricey considering, what the phone can't do comparing to other smartphones.
