Ubuntu's new tablet can turn into a desktop machine

We've seen this technique before, connecting your phone/tablet to a dock that allows the device to become more than just a tablet/smartphone, such as an almost functional desktop computer. A prime example is Microsoft's continuum feature, which allows the user to connect their Windows 10 mobile device to a little dock, which then turns the smartphone into a makeshift version of Windows 10. Now, Ubuntu has teamed up with BQ to create a tablet that has the option to connect the device to a monitor, and it will turn into a makeshift desktop computer.

There aren't many details about the tablet, but OMG Ubuntu is claiming that the tablet will run a Ubuntu version of the Aquarius M10, which is a 10-inch budget BQ tablet with a quad-core MediaTek processor, 2GB of RAM and a 1,280 x 800 resolution screen. Clearly, this won't be the most powerful tablet that we have seen, but it isn't the worst either. It will be announced at Mobile World Congress late next month, and could be released once Ubuntu 16.04 Xerus Xenial, which has the Convergence feature is available sometime in late April.
