Lenovo's new Yoga 900S is their thinnest laptop yet
There isn't a doubt in my mind that Lenovo has helped shape the two-in-one and the convertible PC market categories with their Yoga line of laptops, and now they're back for more at CES 2016 to announce the new Yoga 900S. the 900S is the successor to the 900, and it's thinner and lighter than the old model.
The 900S is thinner and smaller all around, thanks to the Intel Core M processor, and the fact that Lenovo decided to shrink the screen size down from 13-inches down to a 12.5-inch QHD panel that supports an active stylus. According to The Verge, there isn't a noticeable difference between the old and the new model, but the new processor and the smaller screen brings the weight down to only 2.2 pounds.
The design of the 900S keeps the same carbon fiber material and the new watchband hinge that is found on the old model and the Yoga 3 Pro. There are two color options available, gold and silver. And the hinges are colored accordingly.
Lenovo claims that the ew Yoga 900S is the "world's thinnest convertible laptop" at only 0.5 inches thick. While that's thinner than the 900, it isn't that noticeable when comparing the two laptops side by side, according to The Verge. The 900S will be available for purchase in March with a starting price of $1,099USD.
Lenovo is also debuting their new Yoga Mouse alongside the new 900S, and it complements the design of the new laptop, as well. The mouse has a few tricks up it's sleeve too, as it can be converted from a normal mouse to a remote control with media playback and volume controls that can be used on any Windows 10 PC.
