LG announces the flagship TV
CES 2016 seems like it's all about TV's, and that's partially true as LG, Samsung, Panasonic and other have released a bunch of TV's this show. LG's back this time with their new OLED 4K TV that has HDR Pro compatibility. LG promises that their new TV will have a picture that is brighter, bolder and more immersive than ever before. Their two series, the G6 and the E6 measure just 2.57mm thin, and they have LG's new "Picture-On-Glass" technology. LG also adds that there is barely any bezels and they both have transparent glass on the back.
LG has made an effort to support all major formats of HDR, including Dolby Vision. the new TV line has also been certified "Ultra HD Premium" by the UHD alliance, which backs TVs with "meet the most demanding performance standards for resolution, peak luminance, black levels, wide color gamut and audio quality." Additionally, these TV's will run LG's new WebOS 3.0 operating system. LG has yet to comment on pricing and availability times. Stay tuned to TechDependent for more CES 2016 coverage.
