Lenovo's new smartphone has Google's Tango camera

Lenovo and Google have teamed up to create a smartphone that uses Google's Project Tango 3D imaging system platform. There aren't many details on the phone itself, as the design has not been finished yet. But it will be under 6.5-inches and will launch in the summer of 2016.

In case you forgot what Project Tango can do, it allows users to measure a room in 3D and recognize the places that the device has scanned before as well as overlay augmented reality-style words and images on the screen and track movement through indoor spaces such as shopping malls.

Both companies launched a Project Tango incubator subproject, which allows developers to submit game and app ideas that use the 3D-scanning technology. The companies will then select their favorite ideas and will provide funding and support to make it a reality, not to mention the apps will launch on the paired smartphone. The submissions will close on February 15th, 2016. So, if you have an idea, submit it to this link as soon as you can.
