Back on Christmas Eve, Uber announced two riders in London made their 1 billionth trip. Uber said in a blog post that Driver Ara picked up Marvin in a blue Honda Insight in London Fields, Hackney and went to Hoxton with £5.

Both people get a pretty good bonus for being part of this event. Uber said, “We’re putting one year’s worth of free rides in rider Marvin’s stocking and our driver-partner Ava will be taking a vacation on us to the Uber city of his choice." Uber will also be making a donation to a charity from Hackney.

1 billion does sound like a lot, but I think even more people will be using Uber to get the 2 billionth ride.
