Ultra-HD Blu-Rays were promised to launch early this year, and some major studios are keeping that promise. Warner Bros is the first to announce their Ultra-HD Blu-Ray movie compatibility. Title includes Mad Max: Fury Road, San Andreas, The Lego Movie and Pan. There is no exact release date mentioned, but Warner claims that they plan release more movies with the support later this year and they plan to launch over 35 movies in 2016.
Standard features for the Ultra-HD Blu-Ray movies include 4K resolution and HDR support for more colors and better contrast. Additionally, select titles will include Dolby Atmos surround sound for immersive audio. Warner also said that they will include the 4K support for downloaded and/or streamed movies, as well. Fox last year at IFA announced their Ultra-D Blu-Ray movie selection. Stay tuned to TechDependent as we cover what all happens at CES 2016.
