Acer's new Aspire Switch 12 S has USB-C support

We've covered Acer's new ChromeOS enabled devices and their new monitors At CES 2016, and now they're back with the Aspire Switch 12 S, which comes with an improved design and improved specifications than the last model.

The improvement to the design means that there are more different "modes" that you can use the tablet in. There is now the standard tablet mode, which either lets the user detach the tablet from the keyboard or flip the tablet to cover the keyboard. There is also the standard laptop mode and "tent" mode plus a tablet stand mode. The screen size is still at 12.5-inches, but it has the option to have a 4K resolution screen, as well as the standard 1080p offering. The processor of choice is an Intel Core M processor with either 4 or 8GB of RAM. There is either the option for 128GB or 256GB flash storage, as well.

Acer decided to switch to the new Thunderbolt 3.1 USB-C for power. As usual, the USB-C port can also output to displays and can handle high-speed data transfers. There are two USB 3.0 ports, a Micro HDMI and a MicroSD card reader plus a 3.5mm headphone port.

The improved specifications and design means a price increase, and that is proved true. The old model cost around $700 while the new model starts at around $99 9 and will launch sometime next month.
