Samsung's newest SSD has a USB-C connection

Samsung announced their popular Portable SSD T1 just last year, and now they're back at CES 2016 to announce the successor, the Portable SSD T3.

The design hasn't changed much from last year's model, but the capacity goes up one TB, as it has 2TB of storage max instead of just 1TB. There are 250GB, 500GB, and 1TB models available, however. The T3 weighs just under 2 ounces and is only 2.9 inches long. Samsung also states that the SSD is now shock resistant, and can defy drops up to 2 meters. More interestingly, the T3 supports the new USB-C standard as well as 2.0 and 3.0, with read and write speeds up to 450MB per second. Samsung even has a companion app for Android to edit the storage on the T3 on the go.

the T3 will be launching in the US, China, Korea and other select countries in Europe next month, and a worldwide release will follow. There is no specific information on price, but the current T1 can be picked up for around $380, which was priced at around $600 at the time of launch.
