Sleep Number is one of the well-known manufacturers when it comes to smart beds, and they are back at CES 2016 with the "it bed" that has a wide range of sleep-tracking features without the high price tag that is typically associated with Sleep Number beds.
The it bed includes the companies well-known "SleepIQ" technology, which uses biometric sensors found inside the bed to measure the user's heart rate, breathing rate and relative restfulness. The SleepIQ technology now has it's own API, which would integrate health and fitness apps into the service. The user can download the companion app that is available on both Android and iOS to get personalized recommendations on when the user should go to sleep and which Sleep Number setting they should use for the best sleep possible. The it bed will be available later this year for around $1,000USD, which is a lot cheaper than their X12 which has a base price of $8,000USD. More information about the it bad can be found at itbed.com. Stay tuned to TechDependent for all of our CES 2016 coverage. To see all of our coverage, search under the CES 2016 category and tags.
