While the new Macbook is definitely one of the most revolutionary Apple products released last year, there was one (or two) major downsides to it. One, it only had one USB-C port. And the other, the USB-C port didn't have the MagSafe style connector that has been a staple on all of Apple's other Macbook laptops. Well, a company called Griffin hopes to fix that issue by releasing an adapter that adds the MagSafe connector back to the Macbook.

Normally, if you trip over the power cable or tug it harshly, it would send the computer flying, which could break it. This is where MagSafe would come in and save it as the cable would magnetically detach if it was pulled or tugged, which could harm the laptop. The BreakSafe applies on this logic, as there is a small connector you insert on the Macbook's USB-C port and then the rest of the cable attaches magnetically to the connector. The included cable is 6 feet long and has another USB-C connector on the end. The magnetic adaptor only sticks out about 12.8mm, so Griffin says that it can be connected to the Macbook all the time.
If you are interested in potentially saving your Macbook, the Breaksafe will be available to purchase in April for $39.99USD. Stay tuned to TechDependent for more CES 2016 coverage. To see all of our coverage, check under the CES 2016 tags and category.
