Periscope brings live streaming to GoPro cameras

Periscope, the ever popular live-streaming social media platform teamed up with what could be the world's largest action camera company, GoPro to bring Periscope's live streaming platform to GoPro's action cameras. The integration at this time only works with iOS and GoPro's Hero 4 Black and Hero 4 Silver. Periscope will recognize when a GoPro is connected to an iPhone. Once Periscope is connected with the GoPro, there is an option available to live stream from the GoPro itself. The app allows the user to toggle between the iPhone's view and the GoPro's view. If the user want's to only see what is on the GoPro, the app can "freeze" the screen to the user can put their phone in their pocket. The GoPro will save the recorded podcast on the internal SD card, as well.
The integration between Periscope and GoPro allows athletes of all areas to live stream their activities everywhere they go. This is also useful for using Periscope with a Drone. Periscope hinted that the integration will be featured at the upcoming X Games, "We'll have a lot of other really cool content being generated by some athletes there that will really show off the integration." A company spokesperson said.
The integration with Periscope and GoPro comes about three weeks after Twitter announced Periscope integration with Twitter's timeline. There is no clear path of where this feature is going, and it can only be used for a select few, who have iPhones. There is no word on Android availability yet.
