BMW has combined luxury and performance into one car

The 7 Series sedan by BMW is well-known for its speed, luxury and tools, all in one package. Now Alpina have teamed up with the German car giant to create the “Ultimate Driving Machine”.

They’re working on a new model called the BMW Alpina B7, which is essentially a BMW 750i xDrive sedan that has been customised by Alpina to have more power, gadgets and, most importantly, speed.

With a 4.4-liter, V8 twin-turbo engine, the car’s horsepower has surged from 445hp to 600hp, which will allow the B7 to go from 0-60mph in an impressive 3.6 seconds.

At this point, you’ll probably be questioning whether this is a luxury car or a supercar. Well BMW and Alpina haven’t only refreshed the heart of the car, they’ve also upgraded the suspension and chassis, recalibrated the unique all-wheel-drive system, modified a number of other things under hood and upgraded the interior, pictured below.

The new interior is the perfect example of pure premium, with the high quality leather, improved trims, extra accesories and a custom digital setup that consists of Comfort mode and Sport mode. There’s also revamped lighting, chrome and wooden trims and unique production plaques on the doors to make the car stand out from the rest of the 7 Series cars.

Sadly, all of this customisation doesn't come cheap, so expect the B7 to carry a significantly higher price tag than the standard 7 Series - which starts at $81,300 (£64,530) - when it goes on sale. The BMW Alpina B7 will appear at selected BMW dealerships beginning September 2017.
