The Porsche 911 is probably one of the most legendary series of cars in the modern day. It’s had that same design for about 50 years now, and hasn’t had any major upgrades other than a bit of tweaking here and there every few years. And this is what makes the car unique.
Although the appearance of the German sports car has developed within the half-century time period, there are also many changes with the internal specs. With a 2016 model coming with a water-cooled engine, various turbochargers, installed gadgets and tools, 7-speed manual transmission, 183mph top speed, 0-60mph in about 4 seconds, in return for a hefty price tag of £70k+. You don’t have to be Jeremy Clarkson to recognise the evolution of the Porsche 911 from its birth in 1963.
A video produced by Donut Media displays how the 911 has progressed within the past 50 years. If you’re a petrol-head, like me, you’ll definitely invest a minute of your time enjoying this spectacular element of car history.
