Add LTE connection to your car with this Samsung dongle

South Korean electronics giant, Samsung, is always looking for new methods to expand their business. And now they’re hitting the connected car business by creating this little dongle that empowers people to install LTE connectivity in their vehicles.

It’s called the Samsung Connect Auto dongle, all you do is plug it into your vehicle’s OBD II diagnostic port – once everything is sorted out, drivers can view their vehicle’s overall performance as well as locate it when they can’t find it in a car park. Not only this, it also acts as a Wi-Fi hotspot so that passengers can connect their devices to the internet.

Samsung’s dongle operates on the Tizen operating system produced by Samsung. AT&T will be the first carrier to offer the dongle in the United States, promising that it will have LTE speeds once it is connected to the network. It will be in stores around about April-June time this year, but there isn’t any word yet on the price tag of the dongle and Samsung’s new service.
