For many times, we’ve seen Uber with a strong interest in self-driving cars, and now the company looks like they are prepared to take transform their business to the next level.
Previously, Uber’s chief Travis Kalanick once stated that he wanted to replace drivers with autonomous vehicles, so it isn’t a surprise that the company is taking a step forward by approaching multiple car brands regarding bulk orders of self-driving cars. A report from newswire highlighted that a source stated Uber wanted autonomous cars and that “It seemed like they were shopping around.”
Car giants such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW have been hot in the car news lately, and they are in fact developing self-driving cars. Although there aren’t any official self-driving cars introduced by car manufacturers, there are various self-driving features that the latest cars are boasting right now.
As you can see the Mercedes-Benz S-Class parked up in the image above, is an example of the 100,000 cars that Uber have reportedly purchased from the German car company. The luxury car can amazingly park itself, maintain a safe distance from cars in its environment, and even handle traffic around it all on its own.
