First pictures of iPhone 7 Plus leaked
While the iPhone 7's official release date might not be until the September timeframe, it is never too early for leaks. And our newest leak comes from a Chinese website called Bastille Post, in which the website posted pictures of what looks to be the iPhone 7 Plus.
While the design of the 7 Plus stays true to the iPhone 6 and 6S design, there are some differences. First, we have the producing dual-lens camera system that is shaped in a pill-like enclosure. Alongside the cameras, you'll have the microphone and the dual-tone flash. There have been rumors that claim that both the 7 and the 7 Plus will have the dual-camera setup, but with recent case leaks, it looks like the Plus model will have the dual-camera setup instead, with the normal model having a flush camera.
Interestingly, the antenna bands have been repositioned along the top and bottom edges of the phone, and not through the middle like the 6 and 6S. Additionally, the smart connector is found on the bottom of the phone. If you remember, the smart connector was first announced on the iPad Pro and it can allow for the transfer of both data and power from accessories. It is unclear, however, how the smart connector would work on the iPhone.
Based on the leaked image, iPhone modification company called Feld & Folk released renders of what the iPhone 7 Plus could look like, assuming that the leaked images are accurate. The renders show the same features shown in the original photo, such as the protruding dual-lens and the smart connector, plus the single lightning port down at the bottom.
Feld & Folk things that the iPhone 7 Plus will measure approximately 0.24in thin, which is .4in smaller than the 6S, which is at 0.28in thin, which would make it in-line to the current thickness of the iPod Touch.
We will all see if this comes true around the September timeframe. So for now, all bets are off whether this is true or not. Stay tuned to TechDepenent when the time comes, as we will be covering the iPhone event when the time comes.
