Oppo unveils the R9 and the R9 Plus

Oppo recently took the stage to unveil their latest smartphones, the R9 and the R9 Plus. Both of which, offer a mix of premium design with mid-range specs. So, let's dive in.

First up, both phones offer a 16-megapixel front-facing selfie camera, which easily blows the competition out of the water in terms of megapixel size. Interestingly, however, Oppo decided to stick a 13-megapixel camera on the rear side of the phone. One would think that it would be the other way around, but oh well.

On the R9 Plus side of things, it has a 6-inch display that packs a 1080p resolution. Internally, the phone is being powered by a Snapdragon 652 processor and 4GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage. There is a 4210mAh cell powering the phone. There is also a fingerprint sensor that is built into the home button, as well.

Moving onto the R9, it has a smaller 5.5-inch 1080p display that is being powered by a MediaTek MT6755 processor alongside 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Powering the phone is a 2850mAh battery. The R9 also has a fingerprint sensor.

Oppo's R9 is set to launch in China for roughly $430. Oppo's motives to sell the phone in the states is yet to be determined. No word on the R9 Plus at this current time.
