LG G5 Lite to be released for China

The LG G5 was recently released and now LG is said to release a more affordable G5. It was approved by Chinese regulators just before it's official launch. The new affordable LG G5 will look the exact same, but just have midrange internals to match a smaller price.

According to TENAA, the G5 Lite will have a Snapdragon 625 processor, Adreno 510 graphics and the same 5.3-inch QHD display and 3GB of RAM, in comparison to the Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM found on the regular G5.

Other than the downgrade of internals, the "Lite" version will be the exact same with the 16-megapixel rear facing camera, 8-megapixel front-facing camera, 32GB of expandable storage and the modular design.

Although the rumored name is the "LG G5 Lite", it's not clear what the final name will be. GSMArena says it will have the same as the regular model, the LG G5, but it will only be available in selected markets.

If two LG G5 models with different specs are released at the same time it will make people confused, so LG might make the affordable model only available in countries where the regular G5 won't be.

There'll be more details on the LG G5 Lite when it is officially released in the next few months.
