Roku, a company that creates streaming sticks and set top box recently announced a new streaming stick for 2016. This device sells for $50.00 and plugs into an HDMI port on your TV.

The stick now comes with its own remote control, or you can use the free Roku app to control the device. Although this device doesn't support 4K, it now has a quad core processor and has stronger wireless connections such as, faster navigation, boot up speeds, etc. The body of the stick is slightly longer and it now comes in black, instead of the "great" purple color Roku loves to use on its devices.
According to Roku's chief marketing officer Matthew Anderson, this device will be more pleasing to the eye with more artwork on apps and an overall better experience. With the newly updated Roku app you can connect Bluetooth headphones to your phone, or tablet and listen to your Roku privately. You can also use the "voice search" feature using the app, even though the dedicated remote doesn't have that feature built in.
This new Roku stick is a great device for those who don't need every feature that the set - top box Roku 4 has, and even though the stick doesn't have certain abilities on it own, the Roku app can give you those abilities, and more. This device went up for preorder on April 5th and will be shipping two weeks after that. Overall, Roku did a great job on creating their new streaming stick for 2016.
