The HTC 10 Is Here

HTC has announced their latest flagship smartphone - the HTC 10. After months of speculations and close-to-exact leaks, the very much anticipated device was announced today at its event in New York. The device is already up for pre-order on the HTC official site. Without wasting time, here's the spec sheet:

The New HTC M10 on the official HTC website

The metal unibody HTC 10 comes with a 5.2 inch quad HD super LCD 5 screen. The Snapdragon 820 CPU, 4GB RAM and 32/64GB expandable storage (up to 2 Terabytes via MicroSD) has Android 6.0 Marshmallow running on top. For the audiophiles, the smartphone comes with BoomSound Hi-Fi speakers with 24-bit Hi-res sound Dolby Audio and a special headphone amplifier built in.

HTC ditched the micro USB this time in favour of USB type-C that promises to charge its 3000mAh battery “up to 50% in just 30 minutes” using the accompanying Quick Charge 3.0 charger. According to the HTC site, the device comes with a home button fingerprint sensor built in as well which HTC says will recognise a fingerprint in “as fast as 0.2 seconds” giving the user an added layer of security.

Perhaps the most exciting and hyped feature yet is the camera that comes with the device. Both front and rear cameras have Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Auto-HDR. With its new UltraPixel Sensor 2, the rear camera promises to give great picture quality with laser autofocus even in low light conditions. 4k video recording wasn’t such a huge surprise but HTC is promising 4K video capturing combined with Hi-res audio recording to capture those great moments.

HTC’s new freestyle layout also provides more customisability for the user. The device also comes with HTC Sense, a native app locker and a Boost+ app launched by HTC a few weeks ago that supposedly keeps the phone running at top performance while saving battery life. The device has 4g LTE connectivity along with Bluetooth 4.2 and NFC standards. Buyers have the option to pre-order Carbon Grey, Glacier Silver, Topaz Gold, and Camellia Red colours for the new HTC 10 which ships this April.

The new device seems to be gaining a lot of popularity and HTC has made many promises with the new device. What do you think? Would you buy the HTC's latest smartphone? Leave your thoughts below and make sure you connect with us on any of our social media site for more!
